Sports Commentary

Mick Colliss made history with his first ever piece of commentary when he called the rugby match between Western Australia and Ireland from the WACA Ground in 1994. It was the first time a rugby match had been broadcast on radio in Perth.  

He has called Wallaby test matches from Subiaco Oval, Optus Stadium and the MCG and, as radio 6PR's rugby expert, called the Western Force home games in the Super Rugby competition. He has also called rugby for ABC Grandstand, including Wallaby test matches and Super Rugby games, as well as women's rugby and NRC matches aired on various FOX platforms.

Most recently, he was part of the Stan Sport team, conducting pre and post game interviews for Super Rugby matches. He is also the lead caller for the Rugby WA match of the round on Stan Sport.

Apart from the game they play in heaven, Mick has called numerous surf league and State Championship events for Surf Lifesaving WA as well as men's and women's national league water polo games in Perth and Brisbane on local radio and live streaming services. He also called the Women's Water polo world cup, which was broadcast on FOX Sports.

He was part of radio 2UE's Around the Grounds team when the now defunct Western Reds were part of the national rugby league competition and called a rugby league match between St George and the Sydney Roosters on 6PR when the two teams played a trial match in Perth in 2009.
